HON. (DR. ) BABATUNDE OYETOLA DIYA, EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN, ODOGBOLU LOCAL GOVERNMENT, STAKEHOLDERS INSPECT ONGOING 5.0KM ITANRIN ROAD*

 


The Executive Chairman of Odogbolu Local Government, Hon. (Dr.) Babatunde Tunde Diya, Today, Saturday, 24 January 2026, led key political and administrative stakeholders on an inspection tour of the ongoing 5-kilometre Itanrin (Sabo–Itanrin) Road rehabilitation project being executed by the Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON-led Ogun State Government.




The inspection team included the Honourable Member representing Ijebu Federal Constituency, Hon. (Barr.) Femi Ogunbanwo; Odogbolu APC Party Chairman, Akogun Muyiwa Idowu; Councillors representing Ward 7, Hon. Rasaki Hakeem Abolanle; Councillors representing Ward 11, Hon. Ekitunde Okukoya (JP); Ward 5, Hon. Taofeek Olatunji; and Ward 7. Also present were the Supervisor for Works, Mr. Femi Amusa; Supervisor for Special Duties, Hon. Noibi Rahman Olusada; the Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties, Mr. Nurudeen Adekoya; alongside other members of the local government executive council.






Briefing the inspection team on site, the Site Engineer for the Sabo–Itanrin Road Project, Engineer Koiki Oluwaseyi Daniel, disclosed that the project covers a total length of 5 kilometres with a 10-metre-wide carriageway, complemented by lined drainage systems on both sides of the road throughout the entire stretch of the project.


He further confirmed that construction work on the Itanrin Road commenced less than one month ago and that the project has been approved for completion within a period of nine (9) months, in line with approved engineering standards and specifications.


The Chairman and accompanying stakeholders expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work observed on site, describing the project as a clear demonstration of the Ogun State Government’s sustained commitment to infrastructure renewal across Odogbolu Local Government Area.


They jointly commended His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, for prioritising road development as a catalyst for economic growth, improved connectivity, and enhanced quality of life for residents. The delegation urged members of the public to objectively assess governance outcomes and accord the present administration the commendation it rightfully deserves, noting that tangible development remains the most credible measure of effective leadership.
