Awujale Selection Sparks Controversy: Kuye's Candidacy Raises Eyebrows.

The selection process for the next Awujale of Ijebuland has hit a snag, with reports emerging that Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State is pushing for Barr. Ademorin Kuye, a 63-year-old politician, to take the throne. Kuye, a member of the House of Representatives, has a long political career, but his candidacy has raised questions about his lineage, with some arguing he's from the female lineage, sparking debate about his eligibility.

The Fusengbuwa Ruling House has shortlisted 10 candidates, including Kuye, from an initial 90 aspirants. However, protesters have taken to the streets of Ijebu-Ode, alleging government interference in the process.

The Ogun State Government has denied these allegations.

Tradition dictates that the kingmakers will now subject the candidates to scrutiny to determine the most suitable choice.

Some have suggested Ifá divination to guide the process.

The Yorùbá people are watching closely, and the outcome is far from certain.
