TRAGEDY ON THE EXPRESSWAY: Six Dead, 19 Injured in Ogun Road Crash



A devastating road accident occurred on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway in Ogun State, claiming six lives and leaving 19 others injured. The incident happened when a Toyota bus with 27 passengers experienced a tyre burst, causing it to somersault at Osupori Village near ICT Polytechnic, Itori.


The victims of the tragic accident included two male adults, two female adults, one male child, and one female child. The 19 injured passengers were rushed to Ifo General Hospital for medical attention.


According to eyewitnesses, the Toyota bus was traveling on the expressway when the tyre burst occurred, leading to the loss of control and subsequent somersault. 

The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) responded promptly to the incident and facilitated the rescue efforts.


TRACE has issued a stern warning to drivers, cautioning against the use of fake and expired tyres. The agency emphasized the importance of caution while driving and urged motorists to prioritize road safety.
