The Lagos State Police Command has made a significant breakthrough in the fight against crime, arresting a notorious 'one chance' kingpin and two members of his gang in Ikeja.

The suspects, identified as 53-year-old Bode Oludayisi, 22-year-old Michael Sowunmi, and 20-year-old David Olawaye, were apprehended after police operatives responded to a distress call along Agege Motor Road.

The gang operated using commercial minibuses, commonly known as Korope, pretending to be ordinary passengers.

They would pick up unsuspecting commuters from locations like Oshodi and divert them to unknown locations, where victims were robbed under threats, violence, and intimidation.

The police recovered several items from the suspects, including:

- A Tecno Spark 20 smartphone belonging to a victim

- An axe

- Two concrete interlock bricks

- Several heavy stones suspected to have been used to assault past victims

- A broken bottle

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, commended the officers for their swift response, which led to the arrest of the wanted kingpin and the disruption of the gang's operations.
He urged residents to be extra cautious, avoid boarding unmarked or suspicious vehicles, and promptly report any suspicious activities to the police.

Residents can report suspicious activities to the police through the Command's emergency lines:
