*Public Notice: Stay Indoors During Igbalu Rites in Ago-Iwoye*

Members of the public, particularly the University community, are hereby informed that the Annual Igbalu Traditional Rites will take place in Ago-Iwoye from Sunday, August 31 to Saturday, September 6, 2025.

The traditional cleansing ceremony, which involves rituals across Ago-Iwoye and its adjoining villages, will be observed daily from 10:00 pm to 5:00 am.

In accordance with custom and tradition, residents are advised to remain indoors during the specified hours to ensure their safety. Both men and women are strictly expected to comply with this directive.

*A Message from the Palace*

The Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, HRH Oba Abdul Rasaq Adenugba, has issued a release urging all residents, especially staff and students of the University community, to respect the traditional rites and prioritize their safety.

We urge all residents to comply fully with the directive and respect the cultural heritage of the community. Your cooperation and understanding during this period are greatly appreciated.
