OGUN WEST: SENATOR ADEOLA DISTRIBUTES TRACTORS, FERTILIZERS, TRICYCLES TO 2,557 FARMERS UNDER RENEWED HOPE AGENDA

 


_~ Initiative targets food security, youth engagement and poverty reduction ~_


The *Senator representing Ogun West and APC Gubernatorial Candidate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, FCA*, has flagged off the second phase of his large-scale agricultural empowerment, benefiting *2,557 farmers* across Ogun State with equipment, inputs, and direct cash support.


The programme held in *Ilaro, Ogun State*, is aimed at boosting food production, reducing poverty, and making farming attractive to young people in line with *President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda 


Senator Adeola, who also chairs the *Senate Committee on Appropriations*, said the intervention was designed to remove key barriers to farming and improve productivity. Beneficiaries received:


*Mechanization & Logistics*

- *10 Tractors* with full attachments

- *250 Haulage Tricycles* 

- *17 Power Tillers*

- *1,000 Seed Planters*

- *1,000 Solar and Gasoline-powered Water Pumps*


*Farm Inputs*

- *8,000 Bags* of NPK and Urea Fertilizers

- *1,500 Knapsack Sprayers*

- *25 Types* of Seeds and Seedlings

- *2,000 Pesticides*

- *1,500 Units* of Agric Enzymes 3X

- *100 Organic Liquid Fertilizers*

- Assorted tools: Hoes, Cutlasses, Shovels, and Wheelbarrows


*Financial Support*

- *N100,000 Grant* to each of the 2,557 beneficiaries to fund their farming activities.


The Senator noted that the first phase of the programme has already produced success stories, with some beneficiaries now “attaining millionaire status through farming.”


> “This intervention is in furtherance of my promise to my constituents and in full alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda on Agriculture and Food Security of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Beyond food production, we must make agriculture attractive to our youths and a viable path out of poverty,” Adeola said.


He reaffirmed his commitment to sustained investment in agriculture, stressing that *food security remains central to national development and economic stability*.


The event attracted key political stakeholders including *Alhaja Kudirat Abiodun Adegunwa-Balogun*, APC Deputy Governorship Candidate; *Alhaja Salmot Badru*, former Deputy Governor; *Chief Mrs. Temitope Adeola*; *Rt. Jimoh Ojugbele*, APC Senatorial Candidate; and *Seriki Bashorun*, APC Reps Candidate, Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency.


Senator Adeola assured that more phases will follow to ensure Ogun State becomes a model for agricultural productivity and food sufficiency.
