OGUN POLICE ARREST 89 DRIVERS OVER FAKE, COVERED NUMBER PLATES* _Command also nabs 2 robbery suspects, recovers stolen vehicle and motorcycles_



The Ogun State Police Command has arrested 89 drivers for violating the Inspector-General of Police’s directive banning vehicles without registration plates or with covered number plates.


The command said such violations pose a serious threat to both state and national security.


In a related operation aimed at ridding the state of criminal elements, the police also arrested two suspected armed robbers, Abdulsalam Adam and Israel Salako. A stolen vehicle and two motorcycles were recovered during the separate operations.


This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer for the command, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi.
