KOBOWORE OF ODO JOBORE, OBA OGUNBANJO, MARKS 2 YEARS ON THE THRONE

 

*.....Calls for State Government Intervention on Roads, Health and Water*

The *Kobowore of Odo Jobore Kingdom, Oba Olufemi Sunday Ogunbanjo. Sapenuwa1, Lewu VII (Kobowore of Odo Jobore Kingdom)*, has celebrated his second year on the throne with thanksgiving and a strong appeal to the Ogun State Government to address pressing infrastructure needs in the community.

Speaking during the anniversary events held in Odogbolu Local Government Area, the monarch expressed appreciation to God, the people of Odo Jobore, palace chiefs, and well-wishers for their support since his coronation in 2024.

*Two Years of Peace and Progress*

Oba Ogunbanjo described the last two years as impactful.  

“My reign has focused on peace, unity, security and sustainable growth for Odo Jobore,” he said.

He noted that despite limited resources, his palace has initiated key projects, including:  

1. *Construction of a police post* to strengthen security  

2. *Establishment of a community health centre* to improve access to affordable healthcare  

3. *Building of a new palace* — all currently ongoing

He also performed the *foundation-laying ceremony of the new health centre* as part of the anniversary activities.

*Critical Needs Remain*

The royal father, however, said the kingdom still faces major challenges.  

He listed *bad road networks, inadequate healthcare facilities, and lack of potable water* as urgent issues requiring government attention.

“Fixing these will improve living standards, boost economic activities, and attract investors to Odo Jobore,” the monarch stated.

Oba Ogunbanjo also reminded the government that *Oba Sikiru Adetona College of Education is located on Jobore land*. He urged the state to reciprocate by investing in development projects in the town.

Other requests include the *revival of the community market* and the *construction of a modern town hall*.

*Call to Indigenes*

The Kobowore called on sons and daughters of Odo Jobore, especially those in the diaspora, to come home and contribute to the growth of their community.

“I appeal to all indigenes, home and abroad, to remain united and support initiatives that will move our kingdom forward,” he said.

He reaffirmed his commitment to purposeful traditional leadership and to working with government and stakeholders to unlock the full potential of Odo Jobore.

The two-year celebration featured *traditional rites, and special Christian and Muslim prayers* for the monarch, the people, and the progress of Odo Jobore Kingdom.
