AIG OLOHUNDARE MOSHOOD JIMOH ASSUMES DUTY AS THE ASSISTANT INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE IN CHARGE OF ZOME 2 COMMAND HEADQUARTERS, LAGOS



Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh has assumed duty as the 34th Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, today 30th of March, 2026, following the promotion of his predecessor DIG Adegoke M. Fayoade, mni, psc.


AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh born on 10th of August, 1971 hails from Ilorin South Local Government Area of Kwara State. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He joined the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police on 1st of May, 2000.




AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh policing career spans across the six geo−political zones of the Federation and beyond the shores of Nigeria. He started his career at Akamkpa Police Divisional hseadquarters, Officer in charge, Uyanga Police Station in Cross River State Police Command, Officer in charge/Operations officer at Marla CivPol station, Darfur, Sudan, Divisional Traffic Officer at Ihiala Division, Divisional Crime Officer at Central Police Station, Awka in Anambra State Police Command, 2i/c SIB at FCT Police Command, Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO) FCT Command, Divisional Police Officer at Central Police Station, Officer in charge of research and Planning department at FCT Police Command, Chief Superintendent of Police (DFA), Cross River State Police Command, Chief Superintendent of Police (DFA), FCT Police Command, Deputy Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja, Force Public Relations Officer at Force Headquarters, Abuja. As a Deputy Commissioner of Police, he was in charge of the Criminal Investigations Department of Airport Police Command, Deputy Commissioner Department of Finance and Administration, Oyo state Police Command, DC General Investigation Force CID Annex, Gombe state. Upon his promotion to the rank of Commissioner of Police, he was posted as the Commissioner of Police, Ports Authority Police, Eastern Ports Police Command, Port Harcourt. Until his promotion to the rank of an Assistant Inspector General of Police and posting, he was the Commissioner of Police, Lagos state Police Command.

He has been honoured with the following commendations and awards; Presidential award for the stars by Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, award of recognition for commendable service as a civilian Police member of the  AU mission in Sudan by African Union Mission in Sudan, Award in selfless service to humanity  by Brekete Family, certificate of commendation for outstanding performance and dedication to duty towards the actualization of Peace in dafur by African Union Mission in Sudan, Commissioner of Police commendation for dedication to duty, good conduct, diligence and excellent performance and many more.


AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh is happily married with blessed children. His hobbies include Reading, Travelling, Jogging, cycling and Playing Tennis. He is happily married with blessed children.
