Former Ogun First Lady, Lucia Onabanjo, Passes Away at 101 😔*



Lucia Onabanjo, the widow of Ogun State's first civilian Governor, Olabisi Onabanjo, has passed away at the age of 101.

She was a remarkable woman who made significant contributions to governance, humanity, and education. As a devoted teacher for over two decades, she impacted and mentored many young Nigerians in Lagos and Zaria.

Her husband, Chief Olabisi Onabanjo, served as Governor of Ogun State from October 1979 to December 1983 and was known for his integrity and commitment to education and public service.

The Ogun State University, established during his administration, was later renamed Olabisi Onabanjo University in his honour.

Lucia Onabanjo celebrated her 100th birthday last year, with notable figures like Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu paying tribute to her life and legacy.
