OGUN STATE GOVERNMENT LAUNCHES INCLUSIVE 2026 BUDGET CONSULTATIONS*

The Ogun State Government has initiated a series of town hall meetings across the state's four divisions to engage citizens in the 2026 budget planning process. 

The first meeting took place in Ijebu-Ode, with Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun reaffirming his administration's commitment to inclusive and people-driven governance through his representative, Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Prince Dapo Okubadejo.


Governor Abiodun highlighted the completion of over 1,000 kilometres of roads across Ogun State since 2019, demonstrating his dedication to sustainable development and equitable project distribution. He assured residents that their feedback would shape policy decisions and guide the 2026-2028 Budget planning process.



Key highlights from the meeting include:

- *Sabo Itanrin Road Project*: Work is set to commence on the 5.4km road, starting from the street beside Ijebu-Ode Central Mosque to the Itanrin express, with a planned widening to 10 metres.



- *Citizen Engagement*: Residents are encouraged to participate in the town hall meetings to highlight priorities such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, and security.

- *Upcoming Meetings*:

    - Remo Division: October 16, 2025, at Akarigbo Palace Hall, Sagamu

    - Yewa Division: October 21, 2025, at Frontier Hotel, Ilaro

    - Egba Division: October 23, 2025, at June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta


Governor Abiodun expressed gratitude to the people of Ijebuland for their support and cooperation, emphasizing the importance of citizen participation in shaping the state's development agenda.
