NDLEA Thwarts Cannabis Cultivation in Edo, Repels Armed Attack



The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has successfully destroyed cannabis farms in Edo State, foiling a major drug trafficking operation. In a bold move, NDLEA officials cleared three large cannabis plantations in the Uzebba forest, destroying approximately 28,054 kilograms of cannabis sativa.

- *Operation Details*: The NDLEA operation targeted cannabis farms in Uzebba and Ohosu forests, covering 11 hectares of cannabis plantations.

- *Seizures and Arrests*: The agency seized over 1,303 kilograms of illicit drugs and arrested 39 suspected drug traffickers, including 18 males and 21 females.

- *NDLEA Response*: Despite being ambushed by armed cannabis cultivators, the officials repelled the attack with superior gun power, sustaining damage to their vehicles but no physical harm. The agency remains committed to combating drug trafficking and cultivation.
