*NATIONWIDE ENFORCEMENT OF TINTED GLASS PERMITS: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW*



The Nigeria Police Force has announced that the enforcement of tinted glass permits will commence nationwide on October 2, 2025. As part of the initiative, motorists are required to obtain a valid permit by registering online and following the outlined procedure.


*Registration Process:*


- *Step 1:* Visit (link unavailable) and sign up using your National Identification Number (NIN), Bank Verification Number (BVN), or Tax Identification Number (TIN).

- *Step 2:* Verify your account via email and log in to select the "Tinted Glass Permit" service.

- *Step 3:* Upload vehicle details with supporting documents and confirm all details before submitting your request.

- *Step 4:* Make payment as directed on the portal.


- *Vehicle Inspection and Biometric Capture:* After submitting your application, you'll be scheduled for vehicle inspection and fingerprint biometric capturing at designated Police Intelligence Departments. For Jigawa residents, biometric capturing will be done free of charge at the State Intelligence Department, Police Headquarters, Dutse.

- *Warning Against Middlemen:* The police caution against dealing with unauthorized persons seeking to exploit applicants. Only applications made through the official portal will be recognized as valid.

- *Importance of Accuracy:* Applicants are advised to carefully confirm all details before submitting their requests to ensure faster processing.

- *Consequences of Non-Compliance:* Failure to comply with the directive may attract legal consequences.¹ ²
