FAKE ARMY COLONEL ARRESTED IN ONDO OVER ₦1.37 Million JOB SCAM

 



The Ondo State Police Command has arrested Abdullahi Saliu, a notorious impersonator who posed as a Colonel in the Nigerian Army, defrauding victims of ₦1.37 million under the guise of securing jobs in the Nigeria Customs and Immigration Services.

Details of the Scam

- *Impersonation*: Saliu pretended to be a senior military officer, also posing as a naval officer and senior immigration and customs officer.


- *Victims*: Two women, Oshoade Janet and Daisi Remilekun Joy, were duped, with promises of jobs for their sons.


- *Operations*: His fraudulent activities spanned multiple states including Edo, Delta, Kogi, and Ondo.

Police Action

- *Arrest and Prosecution*: Saliu was arrested and arraigned before Magistrate Court 1 in Akure for prosecution.


- *Commitment*: Commissioner of Police Adebowale Lawal reaffirmed the command’s dedication to combating fraud and protecting residents.
