The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has confirmed that Fuji music legend, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, was involved in an incident at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on August 5, 2025. According to FAAN, K1 attempted to board a ValueJet flight to Lagos with an unidentified liquid substance, later confirmed to be alcohol, despite repeated warnings from Aviation Security personnel and the flight captain.
*Key Details of the Incident:*
- *Violation of Aviation Regulations*: K1's actions violated international aviation security standards, including Nigeria's National Civil Aviation Security Programme (NCASP) and ICAO Annex 17, which restrict passengers from carrying liquids exceeding 100ml unless medically necessary and properly declared.
- *Disruption and Resistance*: K1 allegedly refused to comply with security instructions, spilled the liquid (alcohol) on a security officer, and resisted the flight captain's interventions, causing disruption to the flight.
- *Investigation and Sanctions*: FAAN has launched an investigation into the incident and assured the public that any parties found culpable will be held accountable according to the law. The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has also suspended the flight's pilot and co-pilot for a "serious breach of aviation safety".
- *Potential Consequences*: K1 may face punitive measures, including being put on a "no-fly list", if found guilty of violating aviation safety protocols.
FAAN has reiterated its commitment to upholding aviation safety standards and ensuring the security of all passengers, crew, and airport personnel.
Meanwhile, the investigation need to be conducted because if it's just an ordinary person, federal government will react and prosecute such person
